Job Title:                    Youth Specialist

Salary Range:            Circa £24,000 (pro rata)

Location:                    Rodborough School, Milford

Job Type:                   Permanent

Hours:                        30 hours per week term time only, including occasional evenings and weekends

Eikon is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Youth Specialist to provide sustained support to students in Rodborough School, Milford, helping them to overcome issues before they become potentially life-changing problems. The core work will be providing one-to-one mentoring and group work activities that develop happy, thriving and resilient young adults who will contribute positively to society.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Delivery and co-ordination of high quality one-to-one mentoring and group work
  • Integration of all work with other in-school support services
  • Management of referral system and caseloads
  • Keep up-to-date and accurate records and case notes on Social Impact Tracker (SIT)
  • Liaise with key stakeholders and relevant agencies
  • Manage and supervise volunteers and social work students
  • Deliver parenting courses and support families where necessary

To succeed in this role you will have

  • A recognised degree in social work, teaching, psychology, youth work (or other relevant qualification)
  • Significant demonstrable experience of  successful work with young people
  • Experience of working in partnership with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders
  • Substantial experience of developing and delivering innovative programmes for young people
  • Awareness of the issues that affect vulnerable young people and the support available to them
  • Must have an approved DBS disclosure
