The World’s Toughest Row! Talisker Whiskey Challenge 2017 for Eikon

OUR STORY

Team Atlantic Albatross was formed in January 2016 in preparation for the 2017 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and comprises of two rowers, one boat and over 40 students from Fullbrook Secondary School, Surrey. The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is the world’s toughest rowing race and endurance competition. It is little wonder that more people have been into space or climbed Everest than have rowed across the Atlantic. Contestants battle 3,000 miles of ocean and face 30 foot high waves, extreme weather condition, sharks, blisters, salt rashes, sunstroke and sleep deprivation as they row in constant shifts of 2 hours on, 2 hours off. By working together, we believe we can take on this incredible challenge but to get to the start line we need your help and support. Inside you will find more information about the race, publicity, sponsorship opportunities and the members of Team Atlantic Albatross.

ROWERS

In December 2017, two rowers – Lizzie Gill, Secondary Maths teacher and David Goodey, Navigator – will set off on a 3000 mile journey from La Gomera to Antigua. The goal is to raise money for charity and is part of the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Lizzie and David must undergo tough training and are likely to encounter serious storms as well as two-to-three of months constant rowing.
