An annual event to raise awareness and promote the importance of good emotional health and well-being to Surrey’s children and young people,
The theme this year for Feeling Good Week (18 – 22 June), is ‘Building Resilience’.
Staff across Eikon are promoting and rolling out ‘Sunshine Boxes’ for young people across Surrey. From our Smart Moves Building Resilience work, we know that valuing and encouraging each individual young person is fundamental to the possibility for building resilience. We are especially pleased to be supporting work that has been developed by young people, for young people across Surrey.
Well-Being Ambassadors at Farnham Heath End developed the idea of Sunshine Boxes – a gift box made up of little things to encourage a young person who may be struggling with anxiety, stress, or another mental health issue.
Across the week, young people will be nominated by their peers, teachers, youth workers etc. Staff at Eikon will be making up the Sunshine Boxes and they will be delivered to young people across Surrey.
Well-Being Ambassadors are a group of motivated young people that come together in a school, who are passionate about the well-being of their peers and help to shape the way the school responds to, and builds people’s well-being. Eikon help to train and set up Well-being Ambassadors in Schools. If you would like to know more or find out how this could start in your school please email: firstname.lastname@example.org
