Frequently Asked QuestionsThe Eikon Golf Day 2012Eikon’s annual Charity Golf Day at West Byfleet Golf Club has become something of a religion for many of our supporters. We’re always delighted to see both familiar faces and new ones, and try to keep the event fresh with varying evening entertainment, fab’ prizes and guaranteed sunshine (ok, well not guaranteed, but we have been quite lucky over the years!) Do I have to be a good player to take part? No, this event is a fun golf day with plenty of laughs and the focus on enjoying yourself! The maximum handicap is 28 for men and 36 for ladies. We do however ask that if your team is likely to play more slowly than some others, that you tee-off at a later time, so as not to hold up faster teams. What happens in the evening? In the evening we have a fantastic three course meal, prepared by the well-respected West Byfleet Golf Club catering team. During and after the meal, we will have a plethora of entertainment, which in previous years has ranged from sports personalities, to comedians and magicians. We will also have the all-important fundraising element of the day, in the form of a fabulous auction and raffle. Evening only guest tickets are £25 per person. Why is this year’s event starting in the afternoon, rather than morning? This year we have listened to feedback from last year about the length of the day, and how difficult is it for many people to sacrifice a whole day off work. We have therefore made the decision to have a two tee start, meaning that this is an afternoon/evening event only. Contact us early to secure your tee-off time (between 12.45pm and 2.15pm)! |

Eikon is supported by Bernhard Langer! |

Golfing Pro Bernhard Langer tells us why he is so supportive of our work: “Young people need a good support structure if they are to thrive. If this is missing when the foundations of life are being built, their future will be uncertain. Eikon’s work is all about ensuring that young people receive the support they need when the normal structure has failed - and this is why I support them.” |
