Lockdown was very hard for children and especially those who were already struggling with their learning, relationships or mental health, for whatever reason.
We want to make schools aware of the wellbeing and resilience support Eikon offers schools, and suggest three ways in which schools can support Eikon to continue our work.
We recognise the urgent need to address the emotional wellbeing and mental health issues young people are facing right now. Evidence shows that improved resilience and wellbeing leads to improved academic attainment and achievement.
A large proportion of Eikon’s work takes place in and through schools. The support we offer includes:
A termly newsletter packed with information and news about the wellbeing and mental health support that is available for you.
A whole school approach to wellbeing that assists schools in reviewing and developing their wellbeing provision.
An engaging interactive programme to build resilience in young people – in particular those transitioning from primary to secondary school.
A peer-led programme that trains young people to be Wellbeing Ambassadors who promote wellbeing in their school.
As a charity, Eikon needs the support of our community like never before. Will you help us to raise awareness or raise funds to enable us to continue to be there for young people early on before a concern turns into something more serious?
There are THREE ways you could help us:
