Emotional Wellbeing Practitioner
Description

Delivering sessions to clients identified through the Mindsight Surrey CAMHS partnership. As a practitioner, you’ll hold a weekly caseload, will work as part of a team, undertaking assessments and delivering a range of evidence-based intervention for children and young people. This could include individual, parent & child, sibling, family and group interventions.

The service is underpinned by CYP IAPT principles and the post holder would support and assist the core aims of this in the service.

Responsibilities
  • Provide time-limited 1:1 sessions for children, young people and families
  • To attend and actively participate in regular supervision once every six weeks
  • To work co-operatively and under the management of the Counselling Lead and The Eikon Charity staff to ensure the highest quality of delivery and support
  • To complete relevant reports, records of service provision and other documentation
  • To work within Eikons internal policies, safeguarding and data protection regulations
  • To assist with the development and progression of the service by adhering to all communication requests and assisting with peer progression development when requested through case supervision
Qualifications

Relevant qualifications for working with young people / accredited programs/evidence of ongoing training, for example, mental health first aid / youth work / mentoring (list not exhaustive) - Essential
Willingness to work towards relevant qualifications and CPD as agreed by line management - Essential
Evidence of working with children and young people with mental health difficulties 11-18 years old ( for example low mental health, anxiety, depression) Essential
Evidence of working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviors Essential
Ability to involve and empower parents/ carers to promote lasting impact Essential
Experience of working with younger ages Desirable
Ability to personally manage a sensitive, and potentially emotionally distressing caseload. - Essential
High standards of written and verbal communication - Essential
IT and administrative skills, database management - Essential
Ability to protect vulnerable young children by following national, local and Eikons safeguarding policy and guidance - Essential
Ability to follow data protection policies and guidance - Essential
Full UK Driving License and able to travel around Surrey - Essential
Ability to work core hours of 9-5pm but include occasional evening work by agreement - Essential
