Schools Youth Specialist Manager
The Eikon Charity is a leading Surrey charity supporting children and young people to overcome difficulties, manage their wellbeing and become resilient, enabling them to develop into confident adults who contribute positively to their communities.
We work with young people directly in schools and communities across Surrey and beyond, one-to-one, in groups and clubs – and with and through partners, supporting them to deliver services that improve young people’s physical and emotional wellbeing and mental health. We work in partnership with schools, communities, health & social care, and other organisations, because we believe that working together works.
Lunch and After School Clubs:
Our Youth Specialists deliver wellbeing activities in schools which include Wellbeing Ambassador training and activities, lunch and after school clubs. These comprise of a range of fun activities, games and topic led discussions in a safe environment. We are currently seeking volunteers to help support delivery of the following clubs:
Wellbeing Lunch Club – A lunch club delivered at Fullbrook School for students, which includes fun activities and topic discussions.
Wellbeing in Nature Lunch and After School Clubs – Lunch and After School Clubs delivered at Fullbrook School and Kings College, Guildford which include wellbeing in nature activities including gardening, mindfulness and connecting with others through the 5 Ways to Wellbeing.
We are looking for volunteers to join our Schools’ Team and support our young people in our clubs, during term time. The role involves:
- Engaging with young people to motivate, inspire and encourage potential.
- Listening and supporting young people, showing empathy and understanding, remaining non-judgmental and caring.
- Supporting the Youth Specialist with planning and delivering activities.
Requirements for volunteering:
- Volunteer at least half a day per week.
- You will be required to complete a criminal records check (DBS) and provide two references.
