How to Fundraise

You don’t have to be an athlete to raise funds for Eikon. You just need a great idea!

Here are a few…
  • Have a bake sale. Do it at work, and you can get your colleagues to compete in an office Bake-Off at the same time.
  • Run a sweepstake. Charge an entry fee to predict the winner of the World Cup / Strictly
Come Dancing. The winning guess gets a prize, and the money raised goes to Eikon.
  • Wash cars with your kids.
  • Host a coffee morning or cheese and wine evening.
  • Do odd jobs for your friends and neighbours. Ask them to donate what the job’s worth.
  • Ask your friend’s band to put on a live performance and sell tickets in aid of Eikon.
  • Do a Facebook fundraiser. Click ‘support a charity’ and start a collection for The Eikon Charity in honour of your birthday or another special date.
  • Scrap your car in aid of Eikon. You can raise £100 plus using a free charity scheme that will take your old car away for you – see www.giveacar.co.uk
  • Recycle your old printer cartridges. Send them off to this charity scheme, benefit Eikon and avoid having to go to the tip! See www.recycle4charity.co.uk
  • Raise money while you shop online. If you install the Give as you Live app on your computer or phone, retailers will donate about 2.5% of your supermarket shop, train tickets, ebay purchase, etc to Eikon. See www.giveasyoulive.com/join/eikon-charity

It all adds up…

These easy fundraisers can make a big difference. Just £150 would pay for a young person to attend a weekly youth club for a year, where they can do something positive and be supported through life’s ups and downs.
