Mentoring

Our volunteer mentors are able to offer support and form a positive one to one relationship with young people who may be experiencing difficulties in their lives and want to make a change. Mentors can support young people in the following ways:

  • Listen without judgement
  • Help to work out what changes a young person wants to make in their lives and discuss ways to achieve these goals
  • Encouragement and help to challenge themselves
  • Regular support

Eikon mentors come from a range of backgrounds and have all sorts of experience and interests. Every single mentor goes through a process of interview, DBS checks and training before they start mentoring young people.

To access this service at Collingwood College or Kings College a young person or parent/carer should talk to a teacher.
