Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 took place from 9-15 February 2026 with the theme ‘This is My Place’. Our Eikon School’s Programmes Team created a range of free resources for all schools and encouraged schools participating in the Eikon Wellbeing Ambassador programme to have their ambassadors organise assemblies and activities across the week.
Godstone Primary and Nursery School were among the schools that organised several activities across the week led by their Eikon Wellbeing Ambassadors. The school has kindly shared details of their week of wellbeing and the positive impact on students and staff.
The week began with a special wellbeing morning for all children from Reception through to Year 6, centred around the Five Ways to Wellbeing. In the weeks leading up to the event, the Wellbeing Ambassadors met to plan activities they believed pupils across the school would enjoy. They generated a fantastic list of ideas and shared these with staff, who then selected activities they would like to lead. The final programme included a wide range of engaging opportunities such as dance, cooking, forest school, a walk around the village, Lego building, mindful colouring, singing, puzzles, and board games.
Each child across the school was invited to choose two activities they would like to participate in. The sessions were organised in mixed year groups, giving children the opportunity to work alongside pupils from different classes and build new connections. The Wellbeing Ambassadors also selected activities they wished to support, helping staff run the sessions and encouraging younger pupils throughout the morning.
The wellbeing morning was a great success, with children fully engaged and enjoying the opportunity to try new activities in a relaxed and supportive environment. Feedback from the children and staff included –
Marlee, aged 5 – “I liked dancing with the big girls.”
Arthur, aged 5 – “I liked all of it. I loved cooking for all of my friends.”
William, aged 9 – “The colouring was fun- it was a very calm and peaceful activity. I loved playing board games as I got to play with my friends.”
Naomi, aged 9 – “I enjoyed the wellbeing day. I loved that we were able to make rocky road for the whole school not just for us.”
“One of the highlights of the day was the cooking group, who made a delicious rocky road bar to share with everyone in the school. It was a lovely treat and a fitting way to end the morning together.”

The following day, pupils took part in a sponsored run to raise money for charity, as well as to support the purchase of new wellbeing resources for the school. This event reflected the “Give to Others” element of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, and the children showed great enthusiasm and determination throughout.
To conclude the week, the Wellbeing Ambassadors met once more to begin designing an outdoor wellbeing area that pupils will be able to access during breaktimes and lunchtimes. Some of the funds raised during the sponsored run will help to fund this project, while the Wellbeing Ambassadors have also completed an application for a garden grant to support their plans.
