Role description

You will ensure services are safe, high quality and impactful, with strong oversight of delivery, safeguarding, service development, quality assurance, data, impact and reporting.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to organisational strategy, lead and develop service teams, and build effective relationships with senior external stakeholders to influence, collaborate and secure the best outcomes for young people and families.

Specific Responsibilities

Leadership and oversight of services to children, young people and families (CYPF)

  • Team leadership: Inspire, lead and develop your team to deliver safe, high-quality services, while proactively managing complex safeguarding concerns and legal risks.
  • Team Management: Ensure all team members are supported and motivated to delivery high-quality outcomes through a system of objective setting, regular one to one support and appraisals.
  • Service delivery: Lead and oversee all service delivery, including prevention and early help services for children, young people and families, ensuring services are safe, effective, accessible and aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Future service strategy and development: Shape, develop and implement future service strategy, identifying opportunities for innovation, sustainability and growth while maintaining the quality and consistency of existing delivery. Work in tandem with the Income Generation Team in the co-development of significant statutory and voluntary income bids.
  • Safeguarding: Provide senior safeguarding leadership, ensuring robust policies, systems and practice are in place to prevent, identify, manage and escalate safeguarding and organisational risks in line with legislation and best practice.
  • Quality, data, impact and reporting: Oversee quality assurance, data, impact measurement and reporting, using insight to improve services and provide clear performance updates to SLT, Trustees, funders and other stakeholders.
  • Senior stakeholder management: Lead and manage senior external stakeholder relationships such as our Mindwork’s and Surrey Wellbeing partners to influence decision-making, foster collaboration, address concerns and secure support for strategic priorities.

Senior Leadership Team Responsibilities

  • Strategic Direction: Drive the development and delivery of the organisation’s vision, strategic priorities and long-term objectives.
  • Organisational Performance: Monitor performance, make informed decisions, and ensure targets, budgets, and objectives are achieved.
  • People and Culture: Foster a positive organisational culture, develop talent, and ensure employees are engaged, supported, and accountable.
  • Safeguarding, Risk and Governance: Ensure the organisation operates ethically, complies with legal and regulatory requirements, and manages safeguarding and risks effectively.
  • Change and Improvement: Champion and lead transformation initiatives, encourage innovation, and help the organisation adapt to changing circumstances and opportunities.
