It is still a very challenging time for schools, both for staff as well as pupils.
Keeping mentally well is vital…
Lockdown was very hard for children and especially those who were already struggling with their learning, relationships or mental health, for whatever reason.
This Mental Health Awareness week we want to make schools aware of the wellbeing and resilience support Eikon offers schools, and suggest three ways in which schools can support Eikon to continue our work.
How Eikon can help schools
We recognise the urgent need to address the emotional wellbeing and mental health issues young people are facing right now. Evidence shows that improved resilience and wellbeing leads to improved academic attainment and achievement.
A large proportion of Eikon’s work takes place in and through schools. The support we offer includes:
Wellbeing News
A termly newsletter packed with information and news about the wellbeing and mental health support that is available for you.
SMART Schools
A whole school approach to wellbeing that assists schools in reviewing and developing their wellbeing provision.
SMART Moves
An engaging interactive programme to build resilience in young people – in particular those transitioning from primary to secondary school.
Head SMART
A peer-led programme that trains young people to be Wellbeing Ambassadors who promote wellbeing in their school.
