Surrey children’s charity secures spaces in two in-demand challenge events

The Eikon Charity has successfully secured spaces in two coveted running events

These are the award-winning Mercer Surrey Half Marathon on the 26th of September, and the world’s largest marathon, The Virtual Virgin Money London Marathon on the 3rd October. The charity is hoping that the events will raise the money it needs to support vulnerable children and young people in Surrey to thrive.

This year’s Virtual London Marathon has already sold out, but the charity still has limited places available. Those who choose to take part for The Eikon Charity in one or both events will receive expert support with training, a branded running vest, and a finishers medal – as well as support to hit their fundraising target.

Chris Hickford, Chief Executive of The Eikon Charity, says:

“These are extremely challenging times for children and young people and more of them than ever desperately need our support. We need people of all abilities to rise to the challenge of running either 13.1 or 26.2 miles – and raising the funds we need to sustain our vital work. We rely on donations and income from these challenge events, so please do sign up so that we can be there for children in Surrey that need us.”

Eikon is a local charity working with children to improve their emotional wellbeing and mental health, and become more confident, resilient and able to tackle the challenges they face. Its work prevents unnecessary harm and even saves lives. The Eikon Charity wants more children that need it to be able to access the high-quality support they provide and are committed to raising the funds needed to make that happen.

If you want to raise money for vulnerable children in Surrey, then all you have to do is choose which race you want to take part in, sign up and get training! You can find more at https://eikon.org.uk/run
