Mental Health Awareness Month 2025 ‘Community’

School Resources

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and the theme for 2025 is ‘Community’

Being part of a safe and positive community is essential for our mental health and wellbeing. We flourish when we’re connected to others and surrounded by supportive communities that remind us we’re not alone.

Experiencing connection to each other and the world around us increases our wellbeing and sense of belonging. To help us celebrate and foster connection within our school community this year our focus is on the wellbeing of everyone – pupils, teachers, support staff, leaders and families.

Support for schools

With a focus on staff wellbeing, our presentation below highlights some of the ways you can increase opportunities for connection within your school. You may wish to play this video at a staff meeting to encourage reflection and discussion about what wellbeing means to each person.

Activities for pupils

Connecting with others doesn’t just have to happen in a crisis – if we start to introduce language around connecting with our feelings and emotions everyday, then children can open up and explain how they feel, so we can support them.

These resources are designed for pupils to explore the themes of connection and community in relation to supporting their mental health and wellbeing.

How you can support Eikon –

This May, we’re running a Match Funding Campaign. Every pound your school community raises will be doubled (up to the value of £5000), thanks to generous match funders – meaning your support goes twice as far.

How your school can help:

  • Host a non-uniform mufti day, cake sale, or sponsored walk.

  • Encourage your Eikon Wellbeing Ambassadors to undertake a sponsored challenge.

  • Share our campaign with parents and carers.

Every contribution helps – whether it’s £5 or £500 – and your school’s involvement will directly support children in your local community.

We’d love to celebrate your efforts on social media and in our campaign updates too, so please tag us in any posts!
