About The Eikon Charity

The Eikon Charity supports children and young people to overcome challenges, increase their resilience and develop into confident adults who contribute positively to their communities. Wherever a young person is on that journey and whether they’re feeling good about life or are really struggling, we’re there for them. We believe in their potential.

We work with young people directly in schools and communities across Surrey and beyond, one-to-one, in groups and clubs – and with and through partners, supporting them to deliver services that improve young people’s physical and emotional wellbeing and mental health. We work in partnership with schools, communities, health & social care and other organisations, because we believe that working together works.

Our iAmMe services:

We run our LGBTQ+ youth clubs both face to face and online. Both youth clubs are led by LGBTQ+ & trans+ youth workers and consist of a range of fun activities, games and topic led discussions in a safe environment. Our groups are open to LGBTQ+ young people across Surrey from the age of 11 to 18, or up to 25 for young people with SEND. We are also starting a families and allies group as we recognize that supporting young people also requires holistic and contextualized support that includes working with parents, guardians and allies.

Our services for LGBTQ+ young people and their families/allies:

iAmMe – A virtual & in person youth club that provides a safe space for young people who identify as LGBTQ+. The group is focused on supporting LGBTQ+ young people to come together, explore their questions & identities, learn about LGBTQ+ culture, find local community, make friends and have fun.

Trans+ youth group – we are re-starting our trans+ youth group in order to provide a specific space for trans+ or gender questioning young people to come together, make friends, have fun, share in their questions & journeys and support each other through the challenges faced in our extremely binary and often trans exclusionary world.

Families and Allies group – we are planning to provide a new support space for parents, guardians and allies (running alongside our in person youth group). The purpose of this is to create a space for parents, guardians and families to come together, ask questions, explore subjects relating to their LGBTQ+ young people, meet others with similar experiences are receive support from our youth workers.
